1. Booking Information


For New Zealand Visa Assessments, customers will need to make a booking by calling our contact centre on 1300 794 919. Our contact centre operates Monday to Friday (closed national public holidays). For opening hours, please refer to our locations.

The Contact Centre will be able to supply the date, time and locations of the appointments that are currently available.


Payments for visa assessment appointments can be made when booking though our Contact Centre, or on the day of your appointment, using American Express, MasterCard, Visa or EFTPOS via a debit card. Cash is not accepted.

Change or cancel

You may change or cancel your visa medical appointment by contacting our contact centre on 1300 794 919.

2. What to expect on the day

Please arrive on time and allow up to two (2) hours for your appointment.

Please note: Friends and family are not permitted to accompany you during your immigration health examination, however children under 18 may be accompanied by a parent or an adult guardian. Should a chaperone be required, Bupa Medical Visa Services will provide this on the day.

You do not need to fast, please eat and drink as normal.

If you are pregnant, you are required to bring a certificate or letter from your general practitioner confirming this. If you are menstruating, please book your appointment 4-6 days after you have finished menstruating. If you have an Immigration Adviser, you will need to bring your completed ‘Immigration Adviser Details’ form which is available via the Immigration New Zealand website.

You will need to bring:

• Valid original passport

If the applicant's passport is not available, the following identity documents are accepted (No photocopies are will be accepted). Approved identifications documents include the following:

o Original passport (the preferred identity document)

o Certificate of Identity with photo

o Refugee travel document with photo

Without one of the approved identity documents on the day you will not be able to undertake your visa medical assessment.

• Prescription eyeglasses or contact lenses if you wear them.

• Information about any prescription medication that you take.

• Copies of medical reports about any current or previous medical condition(s).

4. Price List commencing 1 May 2015

Fee incl GST (AUD)
General Medical Examination which is inclusive of the following tests:
  • Serum Creatinine
  • HIV test
  • Hepatitis B test
  • Hepatitis C test
  • HbA1c
  • Full Blood Count
  • Syphillis
Chest x-ray examination
General Medical Examination + Chest x-ray examination
Limited Medical Examination which is inclusive of the following tests:
  • Serum Creatinine
  • Full Blood Count
Limited Medical Examination + Chest x-ray
Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) Supplementary examination (HIV test only)
RSE Supplementary examination (HIV test + Chest x-ray)
Further tests dependent on medical history:
  • Hepatitis B – Viral Load (HBV-DNA)
  • Hepatitis C – Viral Load (HCV-RNA)


* Additional fees and charges may apply if the doctor requests further tests, procedures or pathology.

** Payment for health examinations can be made online through our booking system using Visa, Mastercard or American Express. Credit card payments attract a 0.75% surcharge.

Cash will not be accepted as a payment method at the centres.
